A Day in La Conner

1 Girls Day Feb 2015quilt museum la conner

What a glorious and hilarious day we had in La Conner last week! My friends Lillian, Mary and Lisa (who are all artists with addictions to fabric, myself included!). We trek to the La Conner Quilt Museum as often as we can. The current show of quilts by Freddy Moran really appealed to me for their designs, colors and collage technique. I’m now inspired to start a new piece. We had a bit of sun and look like hibernating creatures emerging into the daylight after months in darkness. La Conner is famous for its annual Tulip Festival, another annual trek. Miles and miles of tulip fields as far as the horizon…I asked a field representative what they do with so many tulips. His response? “We mostly ship them to Holland”!!! Go figure…
